Hellenic Cables

Hellenic Cables, the cables division of Cenergy Holdings, has secured a turnkey contract from the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) to design, supply, and install a 150 kV composite cable system connecting Igoumenitsa on the mainland with the island of Corfu. The project aims to strengthen Greece’s electricity transmission network and enhance power connectivity to Corfu.

The contract covers the full spectrum of work, including the design, manufacture, installation, protection, and commissioning of approximately 18 km of three-core submarine cables and 13 km of single-core underground cables. The system will significantly improve network reliability and increase the capacity of electricity transmission in the region.

Submarine cables for the project will be produced at Hellenic Cables’s manufacturing facility in Corinth, while the land cables will be manufactured at its Thiva plant. The project is expected to be completed within 22 months from the signing of the contract.

Kostas Savvakis, General Manager of Hellenic Cables, commented:

We are proud to continue supporting IPTO in strengthening Greece’s energy infrastructure with reliable and sustainable cable solutions. This project is another important milestone that reflects Hellenic Cables’s commitment to engineering excellence, innovation, and support in enhancing the Greek energy infrastructure.
