Super Sistem and APTelecom Advance BTI Cable System with Corridor Approval and Survey Preparations

BTI Cable System

Super Sistem announced a significant milestone in the development of the Barat Timur Indonesia (BTI) Cable System, securing corridor approval based on the official Field Identification Report issued by the relevant authorities. APTelecom LLC, Super Sistem’s partner for commercialization and implementation, is working alongside the company as the project advances toward the next phase.

This approval represents a critical step forward, ensuring that the BTI subsea cable route complies with regulatory requirements while addressing both technical and environmental considerations within Indonesian waters.

Moving into the next phase, Super Sistem is preparing to commence a comprehensive marine survey that will validate and refine the subsea route in detail. The survey will serve as a critical technical foundation ahead of installation, further underscoring the company’s commitment to delivering world-class digital infrastructure that is reliable, secure, and sustainable for Indonesia’s future connectivity.

Kelvan Firman, CEO of Super Sistem, said:

Securing corridor approval demonstrates the progress we are making to turn BTI from concept into reality. The upcoming marine survey will be a vital step to ensure that BTI is built on the strongest possible technical and environmental foundation.

Matt Christie, Vice President and Project Director of APTelecom, added:

This milestone confirms BTI is on track and gaining momentum. APTelecom is proud to be supporting Super Sistem, not only through commercialization but also by helping ensure the project moves smoothly from planning to implementation.

The BTI cable system, will span more than 4,700 kilometers and connect Batam, Jakarta, and Manado through seven landing stations. By bringing vital broadband capacity to Indonesia’s remote and underserved regions, BTI will play a central role in driving economic growth and facilitating digital inclusion across the archipelago.
