Subsea services provider, DeepOcean, has signed a four-year agreement with energy leader, Vattenfall, to deliver operations and maintenance (O&M) support for subsea cable infrastructure.
The collaboration includes Vattenfall’s offshore wind farms in Denmark, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and Sweden.
Under the agreement, DeepOcean will provide project management, engineering, pre-installation surveys, offshore cable transportation, cable installation and jointing, termination and testing, post-installation surveys, and damaged cable recovery and disposal.
Its Norway- and United Kingdom-based personnel will be utilized to facilitate project management and engineering work for call-off orders. The initiative will focus on rapid response time and technical innovation to enhance Vattenfall’s operating assets.
DeepOcean’s CEO Øyvind Mikaelsen, highlighted, “We welcome the opportunity to support Vattenfall’s generation of renewable energy through this framework agreement. We have over 25 years of experience in subsea installation and inspection, maintenance, and repair work. We look forward to applying this expertise to Vattenfall’s subsea structure.”

The first call-off under the agreement has already been executed, with DeepOcean mobilizing the subsea vessel, Olympic Ares, which is equipped with cable laying equipment and a jet trencher.
